Heritage Ingredients Meets Handmade Design
Inspired by my grandmother’s decorating traditions and baked with Turkey Red heritage wheat, my custom cakes are made to be remembered.
Heritage Wheat
Most cakes use commodity flour that’s stripped for efficiency. Turkey Red heritage wheat keeps the germ and bran intact, so you taste the grain’s natural oils instead of a flat, neutral base.
Flavor: Stone-milling preserves aromatic compounds, giving layers a toasty sweetness without relying on extra sugar.
Texture: The protein structure builds tall, stable cakes while keeping the crumb tender—no chalky afterbite.
Unmodified: It’s grown as an heirloom varietal, not bred for extreme yields or additives, so the flour behaves predictably without relying on conditioners or extra fillers.
Tradition: Using the same wheat family bakers relied on generations ago connects each custom cake to a craft, not just a production line.

Why I Started Red Tornado Bakes
Red Tornado Bakes is a side passion project, inspired by countless hours spent watching my grandmother decorate cakes for a living and by the creativity of modern baking shows. I love exploring flavors and textures — because taste matters just as much as looks. I focus on cakes, cookies, bars, and other miscellanous treats.
All my creations are baked from scratch (no boxes here). This gives me the freedom to explore different flavors and textures — even though my chocolate layered cake is a strong favorite.
My kitchen is a smoke-free, pet-free environment — unless you count the fish.
