FAQs

Common questions about ordering, availability, and custom bakes.

Do you take special requests?

Yes! If you’d like something you don’t see on my website, please ask. I’m happy to explore new recipes or try to recreate something based on an old family recipe you love.

That said, I do need to follow Minnesota’s Cottage Food Law restrictions, so there may be some items I’m not legally allowed to sell.

How do I place an order?

The easiest way is to fill out the category request form on the product page (for example, Cakes, Cupcakes, Breads, Cookies) or submit the contact form and describe what you’re looking for. Once you submit, I’ll follow up with any questions.

If you share your phone number, I can call or text; otherwise, watch for an email. Tell me your preferred way to respond.

Note: It may take up to 12 hours to confirm an order.

How far in advance should I place an order?

I typically need 7–10 days’ notice for custom orders. If you need something sooner, reach out and I’ll confirm availability.

How do I pay for my order?

With the exception of sourdough starter, all orders require a 50% down payment. This down payment is subtracted from your total when you pick up your order.

For example, a $40 order would require a $20 down payment up front. When you pick up your order, your remaining balance would be $20.

Sourdough starter does not require any upfront payment; that can be paid at pickup.

I currently accept cash and Venmo. I’m not set up to accept debit or credit cards at this time.

How do you calculate your prices?

I start by tracking my ingredient costs and any disposable packaging to determine the material cost. I purchase most of my ingredients from local grocery stores in the Andover / St. Francis area.

Next, I calculate how long it takes me to make each bake and use that to determine a fair base price for my time. Some recipes cost more in ingredients, and some require more hands-on time.

If you’re working with a specific budget, please let me know. I can often adjust recipes, portion sizes, or design details to better align with your budget while still giving you something delicious and special.

Do you offer delivery?

At this time I offer pickup only from my home. I’ll share my address during the order process. Ask if you have special circumstances.

When can I pickup my order?

Because my schedule is busy, I’ll confirm a specific pickup date and time with you. Most orders can typically be picked up:

  • Monday – Friday: Evenings, roughly between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: Afternoons, roughly between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm

If you need a different time, please mention that in your message and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

What about allergens and dietary needs?

Many of my online recipes list ingredients and common allergens. I am required to also provide a full ingredient list and common allergens for all items sold. My kitchen is smoke- and pet-free, but items may contain or come in contact with wheat, milk, eggs, and nuts. If you have an allergy, please tell me so I can advise whether I’m able to take the order.

How should I store my order?

Most items are best the day they’re made. Custom decorated cakes will keep for 6-8 hours at room temperature; breads and cookies keep well in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days. I’ll include specific storage notes with your order when needed.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Orders canceled within 48 hours of pickup will forfeit the 50% deposit to cover ingredients and prep already underway.
